Recent achievements
The VLC for SFE region has been engaged in various activities aimed at supporting networking, regional visibility, and capacity enhancement. The following are some recent accomplishments:
- Led the delivery of the VPP Blended Biosecurity course for Livestock Field Officers in Tanzania.
- Seven SFE countries participated in the global pilot course -Improving the Management of African Swine Fever with Geographic Information Systems.
- Supported delivery of the VPP online course on Skills for Sustainable Animal Health Businesses.
- Delivered online courses were accredited by existing Veterinary Statutory bodies of Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda.
- Led the review and update of the open-access and tutored versions of the Avian Influenza Preparedness Course to include the spread to mammals and aquatic species.
- Supported the launch of the VLC Community of Practice pages for Veterinary Statutory Bodies (VSB) and the ProgRESSVet Alumni Chapter of the University of Minnesota within the ICT CoP.
- Supported webinars hosted by all CoPs within the One Health Knowledge Nexus, sharing them widely with SFE regional networks and former course participants.
