The OUTbreak COSting Tool (OutCosT) is a spreadsheet-based tool developed by FAO to evaluate the direct costs of disease outbreaks and their control, whether for actual epidemics or hypothetical scenarios. OutCosT supports national authorities in responding to African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks by estimating the associated costs, serving as an advocacy tool to mobilize resources at the national or international level. This course provides comprehensive guidance on using the tool to calculate the costs of disease outbreaks and control measures.
