This training is designed to enhance regional capacity and competence for foot-and mouth disease (FMD) control in endemic regions, with the goal of speeding-up country advancement through the Progressive Control Pathway for Foot-and-Mouth Disease (PCP-FMD). The course equips new PCP-FMD Support Officers (PSOs) with the skills and knowledge needed to provide country-level guidance on PCP-FMD progression and encourage regional coordination in line withthe Global FMD Control Strategy adopted by FAO and the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), under the umbrella of the Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs). The course has been developed in partnership with the European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (EuFMD).
